We launched 1st edition of AutoCAD Block Best Practices on January 2010. It was nearly 2 years ago. I guess now it’s the right time to release our new edition of this e-book.

What’s new on 2nd edition?

Basically it was based on 1st edition, only we add some more details so you can follow the steps easier. There are several new materials added.

Here is the list of new features on 2nd edition:

Now it uses portrait format.

We presented it using landscape format on 1st edition. We thought it would be cool because you will read e-book on your computer. But today, it is common for people to read it on tablets. And if you prefer to print it, it would be better if you have portrait format.

Now it has 121 pages (includes cover and table of contents).

I thought it was more because of the new portrait format, but we did add more materials on the e-book.

Easier navigation

You can now access chapters easier using bookmark. So you can jump to chapters without having to scroll all the way down.

Links to additional resources

This e-book is focused on blocks and related features. We cover those ‘related features’, but not in details. However, we understand that you may not familiar with those features and want to learn more about it. We provide links to resources that you can use to learn more about it.

Support forum

Another interesting (at least we thought it is) thing is, we launched a support forum for you who purchased this e-book. This forum is only for you who purchased this e-book. It’s not fully functional yet, we expect to complete it in early January 2012. We will post another announcement about it later. You can register now, and we will do our best to make it active. And please register using email that you use to purchase the e-book. If you prefer to use other email address, please email us and notify that you register using other email address.

What if you already purchased the 1st edition? You can register too. But please be patient if it takes a long time to approve your account. We have to approve it manually.

To visit and register to our forum, visit this link: http://support.cad-notes.com/

Where can I purchase the e-book?

You can purchase it on the sales page here: http://cad-notes.com/e-store/autocad-block-best-practices-2nd-edition/

The e-book price is now US$ 14.95.

We draw repetitively when using AutoCAD. If we manage the drawing elements as reusable contents, it will increase our productivity significantly.

Not only we can draw faster, we can add information to our blocks. Which allows us to generate reports automatically. This is what this e-book all about: increase your productivity with block. We create drawing faster, and smarter.

This e-book can be used by AutoCAD users from beginners to intermediate users. However, I believe advanced users still can use the information. You can see what you can achieve by reading it in this demo video on YouTube.

I’ve been writing about creating AutoCAD drawing system in several posts. I also posts about features that can boost your AutoCAD productivity. And then I think I need to compile them in an e-book. It’s too long to be a post. It’s not a complete tutorial, it’s simply a guide. I just want to share what I think can be useful to AutoCAD users. No, I don’t ask a price for it, you can download it for free.

You can download the eBook here on 4Shared. Or download directly from CAD Notes server.

Abstract

AutoCAD has been used for decades. Many AutoCAD users still use AutoCAD as a replacement for manual drafting. In recent AutoCAD version, you can do more. You can add intelligent to objects in your drawing. You can also share the data to work to work together in your company. Collaboration.

There are many new features added in AutoCAD. Combining them all and create a drawing system will maximize team collaboration and ensure standard drawings.

Drawing in AutoCAD is not just about how fast you finish it. It is also, about how easy we can modify it during the design process. In addition, how we can make use of the data. We can also create some automation. We can use fields for title blocks. Also creating schedule using data extraction for example.

I hope this e-book can be useful for you who interested in developing drawing system for AutoCAD. Set your standard, workflow, and use the system! Then you will be more productive.
